Eternal Hunter

I stepped outside for an errand. Orion loomed large in the south sky, our winter visitor with a crescent moon at the tip of his bow.  Every step I took whirled him in an arc off my shoulder.

When I am gone, he will remain, glittering bright, spinning tangential to someone else’s path.
